Also includes committee files from Western Reserve and some MGH administrative correspondence concerning appointments, fund raising, research, and other matters. Other materials include patient files, with correspondence and some medical histories; research notes and proposals about Ebert's work on tuberculosis infection; and personal correspondence, containing letters of recommendation and pertaining to his appointments, financial and other affairs.

Ebert (Chicago, M.D. 1942) taught medicine at Western Reserve University and was director of Medicine at University Hospitals of Cleveland from 1956 to 1964. In 1964 he was appointed Jackson Professor of Clinical Medicine at Harvard Medical School and chief of medical services at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH).
